Dental implants
Had to have a couple of teeth extracted recently and I'm getting fed up with the inconvenience of having gaps. The cost of implants in this country is outrageous so I'm wondering if anyone on here has been abroad for this kind of work and can advise. Popular places seem to be Budapest. Belgrade, Malta and Istanbul, but I wouldn't know where to begin.

Father in law had his done in Croatia, very cheap and a lovely place to visit whilst you're there

My teeth are superb; probably the reason so many birds are willing to grant me access to the wrongun.

Got a couple of gaps... as long as they are at tehback (which mine are) they cause me no grief at all... in fact it's a great party trick opening a bottle of beer with them... dental implants (molars) are as gay as tennis

Re: Dental implants
My mum had it last week in Romford, very expensive.

Bulgaria apparently have some excellent places that are far cheaper, but you have to go for check ups every few months when done, so lot's of flights and hotels to consider.

I suppose it depends on the amount of work, whole new set then abroad. One or two teeth I can't see that much of a saving when all the traveling involved.

Useless cunts ripped a back tooth out of me a few years back. Left half of it in. Went back and fine.

Now it's back.

Fuck it. Useless cunts.

P - Yo! That's literally what i had this morning, the remnants of an old tooth out, the gum had grown over where they took the tooth out but a little bit left in kept growing!
Had the cunt taken out this morning.

Re: Dental implants
Yeah they will have to do that to me. Tiny shard of tooth right at the back.

Painful?

Re: Dental implants
I wanted one done, but the dentist said I needed a bone graft, which ment a small piece of sterilised cow bone being inserted into the socket. Sounded gruesome, so I just live with the gap.

Re: Dental implants
P - Not too bad, bit sore but it's the digging out of the bit left that's uncomfortable!

If i could I'd have them all out and replaced.

Re: Dental implants
I agree the price in this country is a fucking joke. I was quoted between £15k & £30k because I would need a 'sinus lift'. Bollocks to that. I spent £5k on decent dentures instead and I'm quit happy with them.

Re: Dental implants
No, partial. Even semi-permanent were quoted at £10k, fucking rip off merchants.

I can't expect you to understand Jeff. Teeth are something that most people outside of Erith still have some of after the age of 14.

Some of the prices stated on here are TOTALLY RIDICULOUS.

You don't have to go abroad... imagine what a PITA that's going to be if it goes bandy later...

dentale.co.uk

Sensible prices, three UK locations at Shrewsbury, Stafford and Bristol.

Dentale Shrewsbury is where most UK dentists go to upgrade and practise their implant training.

Usually (with all the necessary extra bits and pieces) an implant will average around £1400.

And you're a couple of hours drive away if you need any after-work.

Sxboy_66

You paid £5000 for dentures?

Sxboy_66 5:39 Wed Dec 9
Re: Dental implants
Yep. Good quality ones though, and that did include a few extractions and a couple of fillings too.

Many thanks for the useful comments so far:

madeeasy - yes, please whomail me. Thanks.
CRM - we are not worthy etc etc. (Fuck off!)
NS - always had you down as a fucking neanderthal. Thanks for not disappointing.
CBE - Thanks.
CHL - don't know what kind of income you are on but if you think 1400 a pop is reasonable you must be living on a different planet to me.

Sxboy_66 6:37 Wed Dec 9
Re: Dental implants
CHL. £1400 does seem OK for ONE implant. I'm nearly 50 and having had good dental health for most of my life all of a sudden most of my teeth decided they had had enough and started leaving.

Even at a measly £1400 per implant, the 12 implants I needed would have been £16,800.

In anyone's maths that's a lot of fucking money for a few teeth.
